A. Travaux inclus:

L'entrepreneur devra fournir tous les matériaux et la main d'oeuvre pour l'installation complète de l'opérateur POWERTRONIC Série  3800, tel que fourni par la compagnie PORTRONIK A.T.Ltée, 621 rue Stinson, Montréal, Québec. (514)-748-5188

Le système sera de type électro-mécanique, livré complet, assemblé et prêt à fonctionner. Il sera conçu pour une installation en surface au dessus de la porte et fixé au cadre de la porte ou imposte. L'installation devra être faite seulement par un technicien autorisé et formé par PORTRONIK A.T.Ltée.

C. Opérateur électro-mécanique

Propulsé par un moteur de 1/8 h.p., l'opérateur est une unité électromécanique assemblée et complètement fermée. L'opérateur peut être utilisé pour une main droite ou une main gauche.

L'opérateur est monté au complet dans un boîtier en aluminium de (4 1/2'') de large par (6'') de haut.

Toutes les sections d'aluminium du boîtier sont refoulés d'un alliage 6063-T5 avec une épaisseur minimum de 1/8’’(.125''). Le boîtier de l'opérateur procure une protection efficace contre la poussière, la saleté et l'humidité.

 D. Opération:

La force d'ouverture  devra être transmise  directement  de l'arbre de l'opérateur au bras articulé.

La vitesse du  cycle d'ouverture et du ralenti d'ouverture finale pourra être ajustée. La porte fermera à l'aide de ressort interne de type compression.

La vitesse de fermeture et fermeture finale devra être ajustable.

Lorsque l'opérateur manquera de courant, la porte pourra être utilisée telle qu'avec un ferme-porte standard.

L'opérateur pourra être contrôlé avec un interrupteur localisé sur le boîtier, avec les fonctions: En marche-arrêt.

 

E. Alimentation électrique:

Requis: 120 volts courant alternatif, (1) disjoncteur de courant de 15 ampères dédié pour un opérateur ou de 20 ampères dédié pour deux opérateurs. Entrée dans le boîtier par le côté opposé aux charnières ou pivots de porte.

 

F. Activation:

La porte sera ouverte automatiquement avec une combinaison de une ou plusieurs possibilités suivantes:

        Boutons d'ouverture: PRO-29A, PRO-39AH,

        Plaques-poussoir: PRO-49AH, PRO59AH, PRO69AH

        Détecteurs de mouvements: D7N ou D7W

        Tapis contact, ouverture.

 G. Finition:

Aluminium anodisé clair ou bronze foncé.

 H. Garantie:

Les opérateurs POWERTRONIC Série 3800 seront garantis pour une période d'un an à partir de la date d'installation contre tout défaut de main d’œuvre et de matériaux.

 Part 1 - General

 1.01            Related Documents

 

Drawings and general provisions of the contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions, apply to work performed under this section.

 

1.02            Scope

 A.            Work Included

This specification details the requirements for the fabrication and installation  of automatic swing door operators.   Door operators shall be complete including operator, control, door arm, and operator enclosure (cover and backplate).

 

B.            Related Work Not Included

The following exclusions are covered in Section(s) ___________:

 

1.            Doors, frames, and structural support for door operator

2.            Smooth and level floor preparation.

3.            Electrical supply and connection (dedicated 120 VAC, 15 amp circuit to each operator/header).

4.            Low voltage wiring and electrical boxes to remote switches.

5.            Finished and door mounted hardware

6.            Glass and glazing.

7.            Caulking.

 1.03            Quality Assurance

 

A.            Building Codes

Provide automatic door systems  that will comply with local building code requirements, National Fire Protection Agency NFPA 101, American National Standard Institute ANSI 156.19, UL325 and applicable federal, state and municipal codes.

 B.            Manufacturer's Qualifications

Provide materials produced by a firm with not less than (5) five years of experience in the fabrication of automatic entrance systems of the type required for this project.

 C.            Installer's Qualifications

Engage an installer who is an authorized representative of the automatic door manufacturer, for both the installation and maintenance of the type of units required for this project.

 1.04            Submittals

 A.            Shop Drawings

Submit shop drawings for the fabrication and installation of automatic doors and associated components of the work, in accordance with provisions in division one of the specification manual.

 B.            Product Data

Submit manufacturer's literature, catalog cuts,  standard detail sheets,  templates, diagrams, wiring diagrams, and other information to providers of related work to coordinate the proper installation of the automatic doors.

 1.05            Warranty

 

Furnish to the owner a one year guarantee on all materials furnished by the automatic door manufacturer to be free from defects due to faulty workmanship and/or materials.  All materials and replacement or repair labor must be provided at no cost to the owner, during the warranty period.  The warranty period shall begin at the installations completion date.

  part 2 - Products

 

2.01            Manufacturer

 

For the purpose of designating type and quality for work done under these specifications, drawings and specifications are based on products manufactured and/or furnished by the KM Systems, Inc., Post Office Box 3099,  Monroe, NC 28111-3099.  Telephone number (800) 438-1937.

 

2.02            Design

 

A.            Door Type

Automatic door operator shall be a series 3800 low energy electromechanical system.

 

B.            Operator

Automatic door operator system shall be electromechanical, completely self‑contained, and surface mounted above the door to the header or transom bar.  The opening  force shall be generated by a permanent magnet DC motor driving a combination spiral bevel/spur gear reducer and transmitted to the door through  arm linkage.  Opening speed shall be nonadjustable and feature single backcheck control allowing adjustment of backcheck  position (not less than the final 10°).  Closing shall be by spring force generated by a high quality compression spring and regulated by fully adjustable closing speed. The door can be operated manually at any time, without damage to the operator or components.

 

C.            Solid State Control

The system shall include solid state control providing adjustable hold open time (1-130 sec),  and an on/off selector switch. Fixed opening speed to allow door opening to backcheck of not less than 3 seconds.  Backcheck position shall be adjustable, and the door shall be held open by low voltage applied to the continuous duty motor.  Closing force is supplied by the compression spring with the motor acting as a dynamic brake to regulate the closing speed.  Closing speed shall be fully adjustable allowing the door to be adjusted to close in not less than 3 seconds to latch check. ( Last 10° of travel ) Optional Push - to - Start module For activation without wall switches is available. Accessory power of 24 VAC 1 amp.

D.            Enclosure

Operator shall be completely self‑contained within an extruded aluminum header with removable access cover with an  overall size of 4½" deep by 6"  high.  The extruded aluminum header and cover shall be alloy 6063‑T6.  (Note to Specifier:  Optional sloped prime painted steel or #4 satin stainless enclosures are available for light industrial and cleanroom applications.)

 

E.            Finish

The cover shall be 204-R1 clear anodized (or two-step, hardcoat dark bronze anodized for Class 1 architectural finish. Other painted or anodized color as specified).

 

F.            Activation Devices

Activation of the door operator shall be by press wall switch,  engraved with the symbol of access and "Press to Operate Door".  (OPTIONAL SWITCHES:  Switches can be battery powered to eliminate need for wiring from  switch to operator control. Switches can be mounted on a free standing post.  Switches can be mounted to aluminum door frame.)

 

G.            Door and Frame (Optional)

(Note to Specifier:  The following details the optional door and frame.)

Door and frame shall be Series 600 Heavy Duty Aluminum Swing Door Package.  All structural aluminum sections shall be 6063-T5 alloy not less than .125  thickness with exposed surfaces anodized (painted) to matching architectural finish.  Frame members shall be 1-3/4  x 4-1/2 .  Door construction shall be 3/8  diameter steel tie rod full width concealed in the top and bottom rail secured with high quality integral lock nuts, bolted gusset type construction is not acceptable. Wool weatherpile shall run full height of the leading stile.  The following hardware and accessories shall be provided:  Adams Rite Maximum Security Lock, pivots, threshold, push bars, and fingerguard.

 Part 3 - Execution

 3.01            Inspection

 

The installer must examine the area and conditions, under which the new equipment is to be installed.  Inspect frame openings for correct size, plumb and square, and level floor for safe and reliable performance.  Notify the Architect and the General Contractor in writing of conditions detrimental to the proper and timely completion of the work to be done.  Do not proceed with the work, until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected by the General Contractor in a manner acceptable to both the owner and the installer.

 3.02            Installation

 

Comply with the manufacturer's installation instructions and recommendations.  Install door operators plumb, square, level and true to line, without warp or racking of enclosures.  Mount in a properly prepared and supported opening as required by the manufacturer's instructions and as detailed on the shop drawings.  Separate aluminum and other corrodible metal surfaces from sources of electrolytic action.  Use bituminous paint as required on concealed surfaces.

  3.03            Adjustments and Instructions

 A.            Adjustment

After the installation is completed, re-adjust the door operator and controls for optimum operating conditions and user safety.

B.            Instructions

Following the installation and final adjustments, the installer shall fully instruct the facility manager/supervisor as to correct operating procedure and safety requirements of the automatic door system.

 3.04    Final Clean-up 

After installation clean the door and frame surfaces, exercising care to avoid damaging finishes.  Sweep the floor.  Package and remove all surplus material, equipment, and debris incidental to this work.  Place debris in the area designated for disposal.
