1.3 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: Provide construction details, material
descriptions, dimensions of individual components and profiles,
and finishes for balanced doors, activation switches and bollards.
B. Shop Drawings: Show plans, elevations, sections,
details, and attachments to other Work.
1. Wiring Diagrams: Detail wiring for power, signal,
and control systems.
C. Initial Selection Samples: Manufacturer’s color
charts showing full range of available colors and finishes.
D. Verification Samples: Submit sample of each
exposed finish specified. Each sample shall be of the same thickness
and material specified.
E. Installer Qualification Statement: Certificate
indicating they have been trained and approved by the manufacturer.
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Installer Qualifications: Factory trained installers.
1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Deliver doors, hardware, and switches to site
in manufacturer’s original packaging.
1.6 WARRANTY
A. Provide manufacturer’s 10 year warranty against
defects in material and workmanship.
B. Provide 10 year warranty on hydraulic check valves.
C. Provide 18-month warranty on automatic equipment.

2.2 BALANCED DOORS
A. Doors - General: Provide Wikk balanced units,
complete with glass, glazing, operators, security devices, push/pull
hardware, thresholds, and frames.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete two of the following
three paragraphs describing operation. If some doors must be manual
and some automatic, edit to indicate which doors are to be which.
1. Manual Operation: Manual, balanced, with concealed
tubes and cast iron hydraulic speed control with back checking feature
manufactured by LCN.

tubes and cast iron hydraulic speed control with back checking feature
manufactured by LCN.
3. Automatic Operation: Access-A-Matic OHC Balanced
Door Operator. Overhead concealed automatic door operator, balanced;
with two-stage sealed gear box, permanent magnet motor and electronic
control panel with low voltage, handicapped speed operation. Operator
concealed in header with drive arm hidden by the door in the closed
position and provided complete with actuators and safety devices.
Motor, UL certified, rated 110/220V, 60 Hz with 24 V controls.
4. Exterior Doors: Full height pile weatherstripping
at lock and hinge stiles, meeting stiles, and top and bottom rails.
5. Frames: Constructed and installed without use
of exposed fasteners, where possible; portion of jamb removable
for access to operating hardware.
6. Balanced Hardware: Extra heavy duty, manufactured
by door manufacturer; all components field replaceable; finished
to match door.
a. Integral spring closing device, bronze worm gear
closing force adjustment to accommodate wind and pressure variations,
top and bottom arms of one piece casting of bronze or stainless
steel; bolted to hinge shaft with expanding hardened steel wedges
or welded.
b. Hinge Shaft: Steel pipe, 1-3/4 inches (44 mm)
outside diameter, 3/16 inch (4.8 mm) minimum wall thickness.
c. Door Guide Rollers: Self-aligning design with
no lubrication required.
d. Semi-automatic hold-open device in bottom rail.
7. Doors Designated as Handicapped Entrances: Maximum
of 8 pounds (35 N) opening force at pull handle, spring tension
adjustment; minimum clear opening 32 inches (813 mm).

3.1 EXAMINATION

B. Set thresholds in sealant and fasten at 15 inch (380 mm) intervals.
3.3 ADJUSTING
A. Adjust doors to proper operation after glazing
installation and readjust prior to substantial completion.
